Professional Tips for the Digital World

In todays world online profiles are are part of your professional etiquette. Make sure that your Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and other pages are professional. Do not bash employers online and keep your personal life personal. If you want to, you can also change your personal settings so that only your friends may view your page...but that being said you should still be cautious.

When applying for jobs be sure to have a professional email account. You may even want to create an email account strictly for business and  make sure check it daily.

Some employers and recruiters will contact you via text. Make sure you respond professionally and do not use text phrases such as OMG, TMI, LOL, and so forth. This is still a professional platform.

Keep your phone eccessible   and respond to phone calls promptly. If you cannot answer right away be sure to have a working professional voicemail.

Example of a professional voicemail:

"Thank you for calling "name". I am sorry I cannot reach the phone right now. Please leave your name, phone number, and message and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you and have a great day!"
